The role

The role of the Inventory Controller is to provide effective receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory and non-inventory items to all internal customers, while providing full logistical customer service and support. This includes the control, distribution, and support of critical and non-critical inventory items, including clothing and PPE. 


The goal is to optimize inventory levels while maintaining or increasing customer service levels. The coordinator must ensure high levels of stock accuracy and data integrity on Maximo, conduct spot checking of 5% of inventory items monthly, and perform a full stock take every 6 months. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for non-inventory critical and emergency purchasing from approved suppliers.

What will make you successful in the role?

The ideal candidate for this position should have numerate and literate abilities to GCSE standard or equivalent, a UK driver's license, and be able to meet airport airside driving requirements. They should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an inventory management-related role, intermediate knowledge of operating an inventory management CAFM software system, and be competent in the application of Microsoft Word and Excel.

The candidate should be able to develop detailed inventory management reporting, which enables effective decision-making to drive efficiencies year on year. They should have an effective supplier relationship management approach to ensure key relationships are in place, effectively managed, and to secure continuity of supply. The candidate should also have effective communication skills, both verbally and written, a collaborative stakeholder management approach, and good problem-solving skills
