The role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how colleagues across MAG learn, grow and prepare for the future.

As our Talent Development Partner, you’ll work closely with senior leaders, People teams and colleagues across the Group to understand capability needs and turn them into relevant, inclusive and engaging development solutions.

From leadership and talent programmes to career pathways, digital learning and apprenticeships, your work will support both individual growth and MAG’s wider business priorities.

You’ll lead activity across the full learning lifecycle, combining strategic thinking with hands-on design and delivery. You’ll use insight and data to understand what’s working, identify opportunities to improve and help ensure our development offer delivers real value across MAG.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Partnering with senior leaders and People teams to identify current and future capability priorities.
  • Leading the learning lifecycle from diagnostics and planning through to design, stakeholder engagement, delivery and evaluation.
  • Designing and delivering engaging strategic learning and leadership development programmes.
  • Supporting career pathways, leadership pipelines, talent frameworks and development programmes for colleagues with future potential.
  • Using data, feedback and insight to evaluate impact and continuously improve our development offer.
  • Conducting cross-functional and Group-wide skills gap analysis to inform development priorities.
  • Supporting development apprenticeships and building effective relationships with learners, line managers and providers.
  • Championing digital and self-directed learning and making the most of learning technology.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues to support their professional development.
  • Scaling and sharing successful development solutions across different areas of MAG.
  • Supporting an engaging induction and onboarding experience that helps new colleagues feel welcomed, connected and proud to join MAG.
  • Embedding equity, diversity and inclusion throughout learning activity and creating accessible development experiences.
  • Leading key talent projects, including project planning, stakeholder responsibilities, risk management and progress reporting.
  • Building productive relationships with external providers, professional networks and learning communities.

The role is expected to involve travel across MAG locations, generally around one to two days each month, depending on business requirements.

What will make you successful in this role?

You’ll bring experience of designing and delivering learning or talent development solutions that respond to genuine organisational needs. You’ll be comfortable working across the full development lifecycle, from understanding the initial challenge through to delivering the solution and assessing its impact.

You’ll also bring:

  • A good understanding of adult learning, instructional design and blended learning approaches.
  • Experience designing and facilitating engaging development programmes, virtually and in person.
  • Experience creating or delivering leadership development for managers.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior leaders, People teams and other stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting talent management approaches such as career pathways, succession planning or leadership development.
  • Confidence using feedback, performance information and other data to evaluate learning effectiveness.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage several projects, priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • An understanding of digital learning platforms, learning management systems or content-development tools.
  • An inclusive and accessible approach to the design and delivery of development.
  • Curiosity about emerging learning trends, technology and new ways to engage different audiences.

Experience of project planning, learning technologies, apprenticeships or learning systems such as LMS and SAP would be valuable, but we’re interested in transferable skills and relevant experience gained through different career routes.
