The Role:


With the ability to work fully remotely, this role is directly aligned with MAGO’s driving ethos; to create build and deploy systems quickly in a truly agile fashion using quality data and feedback. As the Tech Lead you will be responsible for a team of developers working within multi-discipline teams and hand in hand with the wider MAGO business. You will be directly supporting the development of our single platform, which is a B2C marketplace used by airports across the world to give their customers a better travel experience.





This role is for someone like you. Someone who…:


  • Is a keen learner, excited about trying new things and coaching others in their use.
  • Someone who realises that modern applications are more than just PHP, researching which AWS services and datastores are right for the job and how to orchestrate everything using Terraform.
  • Happiest with a bit of ambiguity, working with product owners and architects to determine the best solution rather than implementing tickets verbatim, you’ll preference maintainability over sophistication.
  • Who wants to take responsibility for developing and delivering a strategic technological vision and direction for the business, leading and managing a software development team from a technical perspective in an Agile manner.
  • As the Tech Lead, has the singular authority for technical decisions within your autonomous teams.  You are part Architect, part Developer, part Manager, and fully awesome!


If you have experience in the following tech, you’re a star in our eyes:


  • Experience as a Technical Lead
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Object-Oriented Programming with PHP 7/8
  • Rest API's and test-driven development
  • Good understanding of Software design patterns
  • Experience of leading / managing a team of engineers
  • CI/CD or DevOps environment experience
  • Confident communication skills

  • Microservices Architecture
  • Experience in Typescript and/or .NET
  • Experience with applying TDD/BDD development techniques and ensuring teams adhere to them.
  • AWS development, including DynamoDB, Lambda
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Event Driven Architectures
