The Role:


Join MAG as we embark on an exciting period of transformation. We are shaping the future of our airports and have a diverse range of fascinating projects to get involved in. From terminal transformations to airfield modernisation, retail developments to sustainability projects, you will have the opportunity to work across all areas of our business and with stakeholders at all levels.


In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of infrastructure plans and asset standards for a specific group of assets, across all 3 of our Airports. This will include supporting the development of investment plans that standardise assets across the Group to drive efficiency and supporting Airport requirements for growth, service delivery and allows us to work towards our ambition for net zero carbon airports.  


You will take an active role leading ‘centres of excellence’ for asset groups, embrace new technology into asset development plans, develop clear requirements for all investment (renewals, regulatory, growth schemes) at each Airport and work collaboratively with Airport, Capital Delivery and IT teams to work in an integrated fashion to deliver capital investment schemes.


Principle Accountabilities also include:


  • Developing, prioritising and delivering asset management strategies and standards across the group for certain asset groups.
  • Supporting the development and deployment of asset criticality, performance and condition models for this asset group, working collaboratively with the operational and maintenance teams to ensure data sources are reliable, accurate and complete. Use these models to inform maintenance plans and investment decisions that focus on whole life cost and optimising value for the group.
  • Taking an active role in harnessing the experitse across the group, to share and implement best practice and creat innovative solution, bringing colleagues together from other teams. 
  • Supporting the creation of whole life Asset Management Plans for this asset group that inform business planning (1, 3, 5 and 25 year plans) and deliver agreed asset performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Supporting the capital project delivery process from identification and prioritisation of business needs, through the development and selection of solutions and creation of business cases. You will then sponsor project through to implementation and benefit realisation.
  • Building collaborative relationships across airport Operational colleagues, Capital Delivery, IT, Group Procurement and Finance.
  • Providing insight into industry best practice, technology advances and how these may provide value for the group.

You will be able to demonstrate:


  • 3 years + Asset Management experience and or Infrastructure / Engineering experience (does not have to be in aviation)
  • Desirable - Degree / professionally qualified 
  • Commercial focus
  • Risk management experience 
  • Desirable - Financial appraisal experience
