The Role:


The role of the Asset Management Standards Manager is to take ownership of, and manage MAG’s  Asset Management related standards.

The role will provide a guidance and advisory service to MAG on asset management and asset information, as well as an audit and assurance role that the standards are being adhered to and MAG is compliant with any related regulatory and statutory legislations. The role is expected to integrate industry, external and internal best practice into MAG.


Principle accountabilities will include:


  • Responsible for setting and maintaining the standards and processes to enable data driven decision making in Asset Management. This includes; Asset Criticality Std, Asset Condition Std, Asset Health Std, Asset Hierarchy, Location Hierarchy, Doc Management, BIM/CAD Std, EIR, AIR, Asset Investment Prioritisation Std, Asset Availability Std, Asset related documentation.
  • Ensuring Asset integration, registration and asset decommissioning has a well documented and standard process.
  • Working with the capital delivery teams to ensure that all supplier related asset data requirements are documented and adhered to.
  • Ensuring that where templates are required for asset management and asset information, these are in place and accessible.
  • Ensuring that our ways of working is standardised across MAG with regards to asset management.
  • Responsible for setting assurance requirements across the Asset Management system with regards to the standards.
  • Maintaining the deviation process for asset design standards.
  • Integrating industry, external and internal best practice into MAG.

To be successful in this role you will need:


  • Knowledge of Asset Management Information Systems and their application and interaction, including Maximo, GIS, CAD and BIM tools.
  • Knowledge/experience of asset management in practise consistent with IAM Diploma level.
  • To be comfortable engaging and influencing at Senior Manager level within the organisation and externally.
  • To be enthusiastic and motivated, focusing on achieving results and delivering a standard of excellence.
  • A clear sense of direction, persistent in achieving goals, and the ability to maintain focus despite obstacles and setbacks.
  • To be capable of prioritising, organising and managing self to ensure results are successfully delivered in a high performing environment.
  • Member of the Institute of Asset Management (preferred).
