This Senior Data Engineer position is a key component in the growth of the Data Team. Supporting the existing team of data scientists, data engineers and analysts, this role will help provide the glue that enables the team to capitalise on the data assets the business has, and drive value from the insight we extract. We develop advanced and actionable data-driven insight to increase the efficiency of our marketing and ecommerce, increase customer lifetime value, improving customer experience, and open new business opportunities.

 

We’re working on a host of projects – from integrations with client systems and third parties, to building out a data warehouse capable of handling batch and streamed data; machine learning tools for forecasting, customer insight and prediction; real-time reporting for the whole organization.

 

This is an exciting role for anyone who wants to build something new and see the fruits of their labour put into action in a large platform as we deliver (using agile principles of incremental deployment) a completely new, globally unique product to new and existing clients worldwide.  Moreover, you will be working within a tech literate business with people across all departments who share the same product goals

 

 

About You

 

Responsible for ensuring the development team’s software is correctly designed and tested throughout the development lifecycle.

 

Collaborative; working with the product owner and internal delivery teams to ensure features are developed to meet the end user needs and help the team troubleshoot and resolve issues with design and implementation of new features.

 

The role is critical to the overall success of the development, with opportunities to influence standards, principles and ways of working.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Develop manual and automated test cases needed to meet the testing of business requirements
  • Generate test data to support the requirements and test cases for various test phases
  • Execute test cases/scripts to ensure delivery of quality software applications, including system integration, regression and performance testing
  • Manual and Automation testing of API services
  • Automation Regression testing using Selenium Web Driver using C# and Nunit
  • Behavioural Driven testing using Spec flow with Gherkin
  • Working on Continuous Integration tools using Bit bucket and deployment tools using Team City.
  • Configuration of email Reports of test execution to the team using Team city
  • Defect management and Agile Scrum management using Mingle

  • Estimate story points

  • Knowledge of AWS Hosting (will be helpful) and working closely with development team.

  • Drive forward continuous delivery of the software releases through automation and management of testing

  • Driving quality deliverables through automation including tools, process, measurement, environment and data.

  • Be an active presence in the team - participating in team meetings and giving ideas for improvement

 

 

 

Essential Skills

 

  • Demonstrated professional experience in QA
  • Experience in technology with an emphasis on QA and proven ability of Manual Testing

  • Experience of both traditional testing methodologies and testing within an Agile Management software development environment.

  • Experience of writing test specifications and working from requirements.

  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills.

  • Motivated, enthusiastic and driven to deliver the best quality software for their customers to us

  • Experience of Selenium Test automation
  • Cypress Test automation
  • CI/CD Pipeline experience
  • AWS Cloud Services
